Katie & Mark

Take a few fresh flowers, your favourite food and lots of fun and games, then throw in your friends and family and you’ve got yourself a pretty fabulous wedding! That’s exactly what Katie & Mark did, and it was a truly memorable day all round.

It began in our cottages as the bride and groom got ready with their loved ones. There was hair and makeup to be done, suits to step into and ties needing to be tied, but there was still time for a bit of badminton and a jigsaw puzzle or two while they waited! Katie had her mum and sisters to help her with her dress, and Mark was surrounded by relatives and best men as he prepared for his big day. Their fabulous car came to collect them to take them off to a local church for their ceremony.

As everyone arrived back at Elmbridge, the newlyweds had some photos taken whilst guests mingled with drinks and canapés. Despite it being July there was a little rain in the air, but our tipis gave them somewhere cosy to shelter until it had passed over! And they had done a fabulous job of dressing the venue – it was full of colour everywhere you turned, with tables full of flowers and lanterns hanging from the beams. It was fun, informal and full of personal touches.

When guests took their seats, it was time for the speeches. There may have been a few cheesy puns in there (yes Mark, we’re looking at you!), but they were also incredibly sweet, heartfelt and emotional too. The whole day was a celebration of friends and family being together, and they certainly seemed to enjoy it! As if those fabulous canapés weren’t exciting enough, El Kantina provided more incredible Mexican-inspired food before everyone headed back outside to make the most of the drier weather.

There were garden games galore outdoors with croquet, jenga, dominoes and a bell tent full of goodies for the little kiddies too. Not to mention the gorgeous ice cream tricycle which went down a storm with all the guests, and was the perfect accompaniment to an evening out by the lake.

Once evening guests had arrived, Katie and Mark took to the dancefloor together and soon everyone was joining in. The pizza van kept everyone fed throughout the night as they partied until it was time to go home! The whole day everyone had beaming smiles on their faces (and some very satisfied tummies too, we imagine!). It was a glorious day, for a truly wonderful couple.
