How To Turn Your Wedding Style From Dream To Reality

One of the things that may have drawn you to Elmbridge Farm is the fact that it’s such a blank canvas (quite literally!) for you to make your own. You might have lots of ideas about how you want your day to look and feel, but how do you turn those ideas into real-life wedding perfection?

Well, we have a few tips that may help…

Moodboards are your friend!
It’s always a good idea to create a moodboard – Pinterest is an obvious place to start. If you’re a bit unsure of what you want, it’s great to browse through for inspiration and save the bits you like best. Then, when you’ve got some ideas, narrow them down until you have a coherent theme or vibe. This will serve as a great reference point for you as you plan and will help you to stay on track. What’s more, you can show it to those who will be helping you bring it all together – it’ll be useful when choosing things like your flowers, dresses and your venue décor for your suppliers to see pictures as a guide. Bridesmaids, friends and family might want some sneak peeks too!

It’s not just the physical things…
Obviously when it comes to styling you’ll be thinking about centrepieces, colours, floral arrangements and all of the elements you’ll see around the venue. But there are other things to consider too. How could your drinks reception fit in with the vibe? Think about how you’ll serve your drinks and how guests will experience this part of the afternoon. Will the style of food you opt for alter the ambience at all? A sit down meal will set a certain tone, whereas a horsebox will look completely different and usually offer something more informal. Which would you prefer your wedding to have? Remember, it’s about making moments as well as things looking good!

Choose the right suppliers!
There are loads of great people out there, but make sure the suppliers you go for are on your wavelength and totally get your vibe. It’s good to see examples of what they’ve done before to make sure they’re a good match, and looking through their work might also give you some good ideas and inspo! Going for the people you feel you can trust means there should be no nasty surprises and you can feel confident they’ll deliver everything you could want and more.

Look through our blog for ideas
Did you know we have lots of Elmbridge weddings for you to look at throughout our blog and our website? Our socials have tonnes of pictures on them too. You’ll be able to see what other people have done with the space and it might give you some food for thought when it comes to your own wedding. Like the way they dressed their tables? Did their ceremony look stunning? Have you seen something in their pics that you hadn’t thought of before but that works? Maybe it’s something you could add to your wishlist now that you know it’ll look fab here.

Ask us anything!
We are always happy to share our advice and our wisdom! Obviously we know the space and we can tell you from experience what works and what doesn’t. We also have a suppliers list which only contains the suppliers who have been here before and done a great job – they know the venue well and have all received excellent feedback from our couples. Pulling together all the different elements is a real team effort, so you’ll have help from all the right people all the way.

Enjoy it!
Planning your wedding should be a lot of fun. Embrace being able to be creative and watching your ideas come to life. Some people really want to go all out, and if that’s you we are TOTALLY here for it. But if you’re not that way inclined, please don’t get stressed. There can be a lot of pressure for weddings to meet expectations but (and we’re not just saying this!), our venue is pretty special as it is and will look fabulous with minimal effort. A few jam jars dotted around can be enough. Trust us!

We really have seen it all here – from rustic and romantic to full on festival feels, the beauty of a tipi wedding is that you can make it anything you want it to be. So start a scrapbook, pin some pictures and see where your imagination takes you!
