Beth & Kris

This was one of those weddings that felt like it was a long time coming! Beth and Kris had waited over five years from their engagement to finally have their special day after multiple postponements due to Covid. But it just made it all the more special when their families gathered from far and wide to finally share in their gorgeous wedding celebrations!

It was a beautiful June weekend and the country was busy celebrating a Platinum Jubilee, but here at Elmbridge Farm we only had one celebration on our minds!

Beth, Kris and their families spent a night in our holiday cottages the night before their wedding and on Saturday morning all the prep was underway – upstairs Beth and the bridesmaids were in their robes having hair and makeup done over Prosecco, whilst Kris and the boys were downstairs donning their bowties and braces before heading to the tipis.

The boys came up to calm their nerves with a beer on the terrace as they welcomed their guests to the wedding, whilst the girls put their finishing touches together ahead of the ceremony. Just before they left, Beth’s Dad got to have a very special first look at his daughter, the beautiful bride, and prepared to walk her down the aisle. But not before they made an absolutely epic entrance in the most stunning pink VW campervan!

Our lakeside ceremony area had been dressed beautifully by Edwina of Dusky Blooms, with white drapes, foliage and beautiful white flowers which matched Beth’s stunning bouquet. It was the perfect setting on a sunny day for our couple to make their vows in front of their friends and family, in a ceremony led by Jennie (aka The Natural Celebrant) and accompanied by the most beautiful music from Brad Matthews.

Ceremony complete, it was time for the happy couple to lead their guests over the bridge to the tipis where confetti was thrown, photos were taken and more Prosecco was, of course, consumed! Before long everyone was seated inside for the newlyweds to make their grand entrance together. There then followed speeches which were the usual combination of beautifully moving and rip-roaringly funny, and an appearance of a poncho which proved particularly handy for Beth when downing drinks with the best man and tucking into some incredible barbeque food too!

It was the perfect evening for guests to enjoy sitting out on the haybales on our terrace whilst our gorgeous couple had their portraits taken. We could just look at these photos all day!

After the cake cutting and a beautiful first dance, performed again by Brad Matthews, the evening was in full swing with a packed dancefloor and some very merry guests! And let’s not forget the fabulous Birdie Campervan – after bringing the bride to the ceremony in the morning she became a photobooth for the night and looked simply sensational out by the lake!

There was a stunning sparkler display to end the night and one incredible couple who had waited a very long time to have their moment. We hope they loved it as much as we did!

Congratulations Beth and Kris!
